About PlanRutherford
PlanRutherford was launched in 2022 to provide an opportunity for members of the public to work with their community leaders to address challenges related to recent growth while preparing the county for the future. Rutherford County’s population has increased by nearly 700 people per month since 2010 and is projected to exceed half a million people by 2045. Determining where residents will live, work, and go to school is a key component of the countywide comprehensive plan. Input received throughout this process will inform recommendations for land use policies, economic development strategies, open space priorities, and capital improvement programs aimed at addressing traffic congestion, local school capacity, and other government services and utilities.
The town hall will offer attendees a chance to review and comment on the initial findings from prior community meetings and learn more about regional growth forecasts and the possible opportunities and challenges that will come with the anticipated change.
